Situated on the riverbank of Teesta, Mongpong is a gorgeous hamlet full of pictorial sites. Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary: The lush greenery of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary can be enjoyed from the village. The bird enthusiasts will be delighted to have sights of various birds like Streaked Spiderhunter, Stripe-throated Yuhina, etc, and migratory birds like pin-tailed duck, Brahminy duck, mallard as well as the bar-headed goose.
Sevoke: The historical Coronation Bridge is just a 4 km distance away from the village. Also known as the SevokBagpool, this bridge was constructed during the British Era. You can walk through the bridge, and capture some stunning photos. The shimmering Teesta River will be flowing beneath the bridge.
Odlabari: Approximately 20 km distance away from Mongpong, Odlabari is a worth-visiting settlement. The village is known for its tea estates and it is surrounded by Ranichera, Rungamatee, Gurjanjhora, and Oodlabari Tea estate.
Upper Mongpong: Just after crossing the highway and walking around 10 meters distance to reach Upper Mongpong. The picturesque village is beside a small stream. The green surrounding with a fine vista of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a major attraction here.
Washabari: Washabari is approximately 7 km distance away from the village. It is popular for its tea estates which is one of the oldest in the region. You can explore the entire tea garden or even watch the processing in the tea factory. However, you have to take permission from the manager first.
Bagrakot: Nestled on the riverbank of Leesh River, Bagrakot is another small village and a tourist attraction near Mongpong. Bagrakote Tea Garden is quite a popular tourist site here. From Bagrakote, other hilly settlements can also be explored such as Nimbong, Barbote, Samthar, Chuikhim, and Charkol.
How to Reach Mongpong Dooars
By Air: Bagdogra Airport is at a distance of around 39 km. Several flights are available to this airport from most of the major cities. From Bagdogra, it takes just a little more than 1 hour to reach the village.
By Rail: New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP) is the major railway station just an hour's driving distance away. You can opt for a rented cab from NJP from a trusted car rental agency like Himalayan Wheels.
By Road: The village is nestled beside National Highway 17 which passes through the entire Dooars and is connected with NH 10. Hence, the village is easily accessible with the help of a rented cab or taxi.

During winter, the temperature stays as low as 8 degrees Celsius and during summer temperature stays around 25 degree Celsius.
