By Air: Bagdogra in Siliguri, West Bengal is the nearest airport at a distance of around 120 km from Bariakhop village. The village is not more than 4 4-hour driving distance away from the airport.
By Road: Direct private taxis are available to hire from Siliguri. It takes around 4 hours to reach the village through the Melli-Nayabazar road. The other route is Hill Cart Road from Siliguri through Matigara, Pulbazar, Jorethang and the driving time will be around 5 hours.
By Train: NJP is the nearest railway station at a distance of around 125 km from Bariakhop. This railhead is connected with all the cities of India. Hence, you will not face any problems while reaching NJP and then to this beautiful village in Sikkim.
Best Time to Visit Bariakhop
You can have a tour of Bariakhop at any time of the year due to its pleasing weather. However, if you talk about the peak season, the best time to visit Bariakhop is the months of March, April, and May for blossoming rhododendrons. The temperature mostly stays on the cooler side throughout the year but is not too extreme and unbearable. The sky remains clear too.
