Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: TRANSFER TO JALDAPARA & VISIT TO SOUTH KHAYERBARI

On arrival at NJP/Bagdogra you will be greeted by our officials and then transferred to the resort in Jaldapara. Jaldapara is a one of the famous national park of Dooars known for housing a large population of Indian Rhinoceros. In Jaldapara you will be staying in a private resort. It is nearly 3½-4 hrs drive from NJP/Bagdogra to Jaldapara with an approx distance of 135 km. Have your lunch en-route. After checking in, freshen up and in the afternoon be ready to visit South Khayerbari Nature Park. Situated at a 30 minutes driving distance from Jaldapara, South Khayerbari is an animal rescue centre. You can observe the rescued leopards and Royal Bengal Tigers in their semi-natural habitat. You can also go for boating in South Khayerbari. Later return to the resort and rest for the evening. Overnight stay in Jaldapara.

Day 2: JUNGLE SAFARI IN JALDAPARA & VISIT TO PHUENTSHOLING AND CHILAPATA FOREST

In the early morning you will be taken for Jungle Safari in Jaldapara. Jungle Safari in Jaldapara is one of the famous tourist attractions of Dooars. Home of the famous Asiatic Rhino and Bengal Florican, if you are lucky during your Jaldapara Jungle Safari you will spot the herd of wild elephants and other animals and birds like sambar, hornbills, cuckoos. (Every year Jaldapara remains close from 15th June to 15th September. During this time period visitors cannot go for elephant/jeep safari in Jaldapara.) Return to the resort for breakfast and after breakfast drive towards Phuentsholing, the southern border town of Bhutan. Phuentsholing is 30 km away. After one hour drive you will reach Phuentsholing. The famous tourist interest spots of Phuentsholing are the crocodile breeding centre Amo Chhu and wish fulfilling monastery Karbandi. In the afternoon after lunch we will drive you towards Chilapata Forest. It is a 2 hrs journey from Phuentsholing to Chilapata. Chilapata is famous for forming a natural corridor between Buxa Tiger Reserve and Jaldapara. Return back to the resort and stay overnight at Jaldapara.

Day 3: BUXA-JAYANTI SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, gear up for the sightseeing of Buxa-Jayanti. Famous for the amazing trekking routes it is an approx 1Ã‚Â½ hrs ride from Jaldapara to Buxa Tiger Reserve. Start your excursion with a visit to ruin of Buxa Fort, one of the most famous tourist attractions of Dooars. Next we will take you to Rajabhatkhaowa a small village inside Buxa Tiger Reserve. You can observe wild animals in their natural habitat in the Rajabhatkhaowa Watchtower. Later visit to Pokhari Hill which has a sacred pond on its hill top. It is a place of religious worship for the Bhutanese and other local people. Next stop is the TGN Tower from where you can spot wild animals like Bison, Rhino, Deer and many beautiful butterflies. Have lunch on the way to resort. After seeing this amazing sights return to the resort, for the rest of the evening you are free to relish the mesmerizing sunset from your room and relax in this serene ambiance of Jaldapara. Overnight stay at Jaldapara.

On the Sinchula Range of the Eastern Himalayas at an altitude of 2600ft the ancient fort of Buxa is situated. In Buxa Tiger Reserve Buxa Fort is one of the must visit places. Many patriotic Indian travelers comes to visit Buxa Fort because this is the place where the British detained many freedom fighters. There are rumours, without any supporting document, that famous freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was also kept here as a prisoner. Prior to British era Buxa Fort was an object of discussion between the Kings of Bhutan and the Koch Kings. As the fort guarded Silk Route, one of the most important routes to Bhutan.
