
After an early morning breakfast we will drive to your Tsomgo Lake. It is an overall 2hrs journey towards Tsomgo Lake from Gangtok. Also known as Changu Lake, Tsomgo Lake is a glacial lake in Sikkim and located at an altitude of 12,310 feet. On the way to Changu Lake you will pass by Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary which is home to rare animals like Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bears and birds like Blood Pheasants. Usually you can only spot a few yaks though. Changu Lake is filled with water of melting snow coming from the surrounding mountains. It's a one kilometer long oval shaped lake. The average depth is about 50-feet. During summer and autumn, you will find Primula flowers and other Alpine vegetation around the lake. And during winter the lake becomes frozen and a snowfield. After soaking in the beauty of the serene lake you can awaken your taste buds by trying some Tibetan noodle or continue you journey towards Baba Mandir about 20km from Changu Lake. Baba Mandir is a shrine made in the honor of an Indian army Major Harbhajan Singh. He is revered by soldiers of the Indian army as the
Hero of Nathula. As with most saints, the Baba is said to also grant favors presumably to those who revere and worship him. After offering your prayer and having lunch head back to Gangtok. After arriving at Gangtok you are free for the rest of the evening to either relax or buy some souvenir for your close ones. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
