Darjeeling Tour Itinerary for 5 Days

Day 1: Transfer to Chatakpur from Bagdogra Airport or NJP

Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport, followed by a drive to a pre-booked homestay in the serene village of Chatakpur, located in the Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary. The 75 km journey, with its picturesque views, takes approximately 3 hours to cover. Upon arrival, guests will check in and are free to explore the village or trek to Tiger Hill, just 10 minutes away. Witness a stunning sunset, enjoy dinner in the evening, and stay overnight in a cosy homestay at Chatakpur.

Day 2: Full Day Chatakpur Sightseeing

On Day 2 of this Chatakpur Tour Package, go for a full day sightseeing at Chatakpur. After Breakfast, walk around the village to explore 30 huts and its total occupants less than a hundred. Being one of the secluded tourist destinations of the region, the village benefits from organic farming of vegetables through terraced farming. Local people sustain their livelihood through this but nowadays tourism is also one of their sources of livelihood. Visit the lush greenery of Chatakpur, wooden bungalows, trails and trekking routes. Find solace in the lap of nature while forgetting all the hustle and bustle of city life. While wandering around the village, hear the melodious chirping of the Himalayan Birds. After dusk, return back to the homestay to stay overnight at Chatakpur.

Day 3: Transfer to Darjeeling

Day 3 of this Chatakpur Tour Ploan is to get transferred to Darjeeling, the "Queen of Hills". After an early breakfast, you will be driven towards Darjeeling which is approximately 55 kilometres and nearly a 1 hour driving distance away. Situated at an elevation of 2123 meters, Darjeeling offers sloping tea gardens, many jaw-dropping tourist attractions and spectacular views of Mount Everest. Check into the hotel to freshen up. Spend the evening exploring the local market at the famous Darjeeling Mall. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 4: Full Day Darjeeling Sightseeing

Wake up before dawn at around 3:30 am to proceed to Tiger Hill to observe the sunrise over the splendid Kanchenjunga Peak. The spectacular view of the sunrise looming over the Kanchenjunga Peak is worth watching and can be cherished forever. Stop at the Ghoom Monastery, War Memorial and Batasia Loop on the way back to the hotel.

Now, have breakfast to start an excursion to Chitrey Tea Garden, Ropeway, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park which is also known as Darjeeling Zoo, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda, and Tenzing & Gombu Rock. Back to the hotel to take a rest and lunch. In the evening, stroll around the local vicinities and shop at Darjeeling Mall. Spend a cosy night stay at Darjeeling.
