About 42 km distance away from Gangtok and approximately 100 km distance away from Siliguri, Chalamthang is a newfound gem in the Southern part of Sikkim. From the village, one can visit Temi Tea Garden, a popular tea estate which is just 17 km distance away from the village. Visitors can wander around the tea garden, watch tea plucking and tea processing, and even indulge in a friendly chat with the workers.

Go for a trip to Ravangla, one of the most popular tourist sites in Sikkim. Here, visit the iconic Buddha Park which is truly a must-visit destination in Sikkim. The gigantic statue of Buddha along with the lush green hills in the surrounding makes it a worthy tourist site to visit.

Visit a 10000 feet long cliff edge named Tarey Bhir. From where enjoy the astonishing view of the valley along with a great view of the snaking River Teesta and River Rangeet.

How to Reach the Chalamthang Village

Being an offbeat destination, the village does not have a railway route or even an airport. Hence, by road is the only option to reach the village. NJP is the nearest railway station whereas Bagdogra is the nearest airport. Cars are available to hire from NJP, Bagdogra, or even from Siliguri.
