  • Gorumara National Park: Gorumara is a National Park, declared in the year 1994, is one of the major attractions near Ramsai. It is one of the prominent national parks in India. The forest is the home to many species like One-horned Rhinoceros, Indian Elephant, Indian Bison, leopard, Deer, Sambar, Monkeys, etc. Some of these wild animals can be witnessed by taking a jeep or elephant safari. It offers some magnificent vistas of the surroundings. Being close to Gorumara National Park, the sighting of wild animals is common in Ramsai.
  • The Rhino Watchtower: Quite near to the village, The Rhino Watchtower is another attraction. From here, visitors can have the sight of the popular One-horned rhinoceros. The floras and faunas have enriched the national park; hence the sight of different birds like a flycatcher, woodpecker, minivet Dongo, Indian pied hornbill, etc. will amaze you.
  • Medhla Watchtower: The newly built watchtower is situated in the lone suburb of Murti River. The watchtower is at the heart of the forest from where you can see the inner part of the forest along with the herd of elephants crossing the road, rhinos scattered here and there, and the giant Indian Bison. Moreover, on a clearer day watchtower offers a stunning view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
  • Butterfly Park: Butterfly Park located adjacent to Ramsai Rhino Camp is another place to visit from the village. The park as the name suggests is the breeding ground for a different kind of butterfly species. Here visitors can behold a scenic view of vibrant colored butterflies flocking throughout the park.
  • Panbari: Just about 3 km distance away from Ramsai, Panbari is another tourist attraction nearby. The village exhibits the confluence of 3 major rivers of Dooars such as Murti, Jaldhaka, and Diana. The wide riverbank of Panbari is a popular picnic spot among the tourists visiting Dooars.
  • Jadavpur Tea Garden: located just opposite Ramsai Rhino Camp, Jadavpur Tea Garden is truly worth visiting. This vast dense tea garden is ideal for a leisure walk and to enjoy the great view of the lush greenery all around.

How to Reach the Village

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) at a distance of 80km. Cars are available to hire outside the airport.
  • By Train: New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP) is the major railway station nearby at a distance of 64 km. However, New Maynaguri Junction is just 20 km distance away. Regular trains are available from all the major railway stations.
  • By Road: To reach the village by road, travelers have to rent a car from any of the major nearby cities like Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, Maynaguri, and more.

Each season has its own appeal and attractions in Ramsai. The weather and the temperature of the village stay soothing most of the time. Even though the forest of the Dooars region remains closed during the monsoon season from 15th July to 15th September, you can still relish the beauty of Ramsai village and get astonished by seeing the lush greenery of the village.
