TRANSFER TO JALDAPARA & VISIT TO PHUENTSHOLINGOn arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station you will be greeted by our official and then transferred to your resort in Jaldapara. Jaldapara National Park is a protected forest of Dooars which is best known for housing the second largest population of One-Horned Rhinoceros in India. Check into your resort and after freshening up you are free for the rest of evening to relish in the tranquil ambiance of Jaldapara. After around 3 hrs drive to cover 112 km reach Jaldapara and check in to your resort. Post lunch session you will proceed to Phuentsholing, the southern border town of Bhutan. With an approx distance of 60 km it is an overall drive of 2 hrs from Jaldapara to Phuentsholing. Located beside the bustling town of Jaigaon (India), Phuentsholing is known for the crocodile breeding centre Amo Chhu and wish fulfilling monastery Karbandi. Along with tasting mouth watering Bhutanese delicacy you can learn more about the ancient beliefs and ethics of Bhutanese culture in Phuentsholing. After sightseeing return back to your resort and take rest. Stay overnight at Jaldapara.

In 1907 Wangchuck dynasty was established by Trongsa Penlop Ugyen Wangchuck who was the first hereditary king and the first Druk Gyalpo or the 'Dragon Kingdom' of Bhutan.

JALDAPARA JUNGLE SAFARI & VISIT TO CHILAPATA & COOCHBEHARWake up early to prepare for the Jungle Safari in Jaldapara. Home of Asiatic Rhinoceros, during your Jaldapara Jungle Safari you can spot many exotic wild animals hiding in the tall grasses while listening to the alluring chirping of birds. Explore the less trodden destination of Jaldapara and if you are lucky you will be able to spot herd of Wild Elephant and majestic One-horned Rhinoceros, along with other wild animals like bison, barking deer, wild boars, and exotic winged mammals. (Every year from 15th June to 15th September Jaldapara remains close and during this time you cannot go for elephant/ jeep safari in Jaldapara). After safari have your breakfast then we will drive you to Coochbehar the only planned city of North East which still holds the remnants of its royal past. The drive is nearly 2½-3 hr over a distance of approx 80 km Via Alipurduar Road. The Rajbari or the Coochbehar Palace is the most prominent attraction of this historic city. Here you will get an insight about the royal family who once ruled this scenic land. This princely town has many natural water bodies like Rasikbill which attracts migratory birds from Central Asia and Ladakh during winter season. After lunch and sightseeing of this historic town we will take you to Chilapata Forest. Forming a natural elephant corridor between Buxa and Jaldapara, Chilapata Forest with its ruins of Nalraja Garh is a historically significant destination. Dating back to 5th century, Nalraja Garh of Chilapata attracts archaeologists from far and wide. Stay overnight at Jaldapara.
Dooars Tour Packages Special Tips - about Chilapata: The Chilapata forest is rich in wildlife new species continue to be found. Once this forest used to be home of large Rhinoceros populations. But nowadays it could be spotted rarely. The ruins of "Nalraja Garh" (Fort of King Nal) are another main attraction of this forest. This fort was built in the Gupta period (5th Century) though according to some historians this fort was build under the commandment of Raja Chila Rai (King Chila Rai). Present Poor condition of this fort is due to lack of proper maintenance.

VISIT TO SOUTH KHAYERBARI AND MURTI & DROP TO NJP/ BAGDOGRAAfter early morning breakfast check out from your resort and proceed to South Khayerbari Rescue Centre. Famously known as Leopard and Royal Bengal Tiger Rescue Centre, South Khayerbari is a unique park which also act as a rehabilitation centre for the rescued felines. After a 30 minutes drive from Jaldapara you will reach South Khayerbari. Take a tour in the battery operated cars to observe the rescued leopards and Royal Bengal Tiger of South Khayerbari, if time allows you can also go for boating on River Torsha. Next, we will drive you to Murti, a scenic river valley of Dooars. It is an overall drive of 2-2½ hrs with an approx distance of 65 km from South Khayerbari to Murti. Murti is known for its awe-inspiring beauty and serene ambiance and banks of river Murti is a famous picnic spot of Dooars where one can see beautiful butterflies and birds. Now you can bid farewell to Dooars and drive towards NJP/Bagdogra. If time permits have some refreshment on the way to NJP/Bagdogra. After an approx 2 hr journey you will reach NJP/Bagdogra and your 2 nights and 3 days Dooars Tour Package will come to an end.
Dooars Tour Packages Special Tips - about Jaldapara: Almost 30% of the Jaldapara National Park is covered with Savannah and tall elephant grasses. Among trees sal, khair, sishu, simul, sirish are the main contributors of Jaldapara National Park. Jaldapara is mainly known for one horned rhinoceros 2nd largest population in India after Kajiranga. There are about 20 species of mammals, 240 species of birds, 8 species of fresh water turtles available in this forest. Among mammals' rhinoceros, elephant, leopard, sambar, barking deer, spotted deer, hog deer, wild bores and Indian gaurs can be seen.
