Why Visit Gorumara?
Gorumara National Park is near Lataguri. It is home to many wild animals.
You can find spotted deer, Indian bison, and elephants there. The park also has rare birds like hornbills and peafowl. It's not just a spot for safari rides. It's an experience for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and families who enjoy nature.
The beauty of Gorumara lies in its natural habitat, watch towers overlooking grasslands, and peaceful riverside views. Whether it's your first trip or a return visit, Gorumara always has something new to offer. Many visitors also combine this trip with nearby wildlife parks like Buxa Tiger Reserve. This is great for those who want to see the Bengal tiger.
Jeep Safari or Elephant Safari?
No trip to Gorumara is complete without a safari. Visitors can choose between:
- Jeep/ Jungle Safari - A fast-paced ride that covers more ground and gives you a better chance of spotting wild animals.
- Elephant Safari - A slower, quieter ride that takes you deep into nature.
Gorumara has several watch towers, each offering a different landscape and chance of wildlife sightings:
- Jatraprasad Watch Tower
- Medla Watch Tower
- Chandrachur Watch Tower
- Chukchuki Birding Point
- Chapramari Watch Tower (nearby but included in many packages)
These towers are great for observing a variety of bird species, including hornbills, kingfishers, and peacocks. Some also offer clear views of the park's grasslands. Visitors often see horned rhinos grazing in their natural habitat.
Note: At present, online safari booking is not available. Travelers must book all safaris locally through authorized counters. Don't worry - we help you manage it all.

Best Time to Visit Gorumara
The best time to visit is from November to March. During this time, the weather is cool and you can see wildlife clearly. The park remains closed from mid-June to mid-September because of the monsoon season.
