Teesta a magnificent river originates from a lake named TsoLhamo in North Sikkim at an altitude of 5330 meters above sea level. After meeting with several other rivers while flowing downwards from North to South, it divides Sikkim and West Bengal until it reaches Teesta Baazar.

Rangeet on the other hand is a shimmering river that emerges from Mount Kabru glacier. While flowing downwards, Rangeet meets with River Ramman and Little Rangeet both of which have originated from the Singalila region.

Triveni Camping Location

Triveni, the confluence spot of River Teesta and Rangeet, is located after Teesta Bridge as you travel from Siliguri. This particular bridge connects Kalimpong and Darjeeling with the plains of Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, and the rest of West Bengal. At Triveni, you will get a magnificent view of the two distinct colors of the two rivers.

Moreover, the shimmering blue-coloured water of River Rangeet houses a plethora of trout fishes.

The bed of pebbles with different colours and hues from Singla Bazar towards river Rangeet is a quite popular picnic spot among the locals as well as the tourists coming from Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kolkata, and the rest of West Bengal.

How to Reach Triveni Camping Site

By Air: Bagdogra is its nearest airport at a distance of just around 66 km. It takes not more than 2 hours to reach the camping site by road from this airport.

By Train: Several trains run from most of the major railway stations to NJP, its nearest railhead. From here, you can opt for a rented car. The distance from NJP to Triveni is 60 km.

By Road: This spot is quite near to most of the major cities such as Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri, etc. The distance from Darjeeling to Triveni is just 35 km. whereas from Kalimpong the distance to the Triveni camping site is around 20km.
